"North By Northwasted", Way to Die #411, is the seventh and final death featured in "Death Certificates", which aired on July 15, 2012.

Plot[]

Dolph is a director looking to recreate the iconic crop duster scene from the Alfred Hitchcock film North by Northwest, using little people as actors and a remote-control plane to be the crop duster. Dolph asks why Gary Can't and Bob didn't listen to him, which the former answers that he's annoying as the two are discussing about what is wrong with him, only to be yelled at by the director. After hours behind schedule, Dolph manages to get his cast and crew set for the scene. Gary can't run from the plane like in the movie and jumps out of the way as it gets near him. The plane flies past Dolph and severs his carotid artery with its wing, causing Dolph to die instantly from massive hemorrhaging.

Trivia[]

  • Also known as "North by Northwaste" on the Spike TV website.
  • The Latin American and Spanish names are puns of the names of the same movie "North by Northwest" in both regions.
  • This death happens on the exact same date as Tea Bagged.
  • Despite not being mentioned, it is heavily implied during the scene that Dolph is a foreigner: this is because at the beginning of the scene, when he says "Come on Everbody", he says the sentence in English but with a heavily accented accent, especially when he speaks the word Everbody, implying he was born outside the US (and possibly in a non-English speaking country).
    • Coupled with the aforementioned fact with the fact that his first name is Dolph, it is implied that he was born either in a country of Germanic origin (such as Germany or the Netherlands, mainly Holland) or in a country of Nordic origin (such as Sweden or Denmark), as the name Dolph is quite popular among men who are native to those countries.
  • Goof: When Dolph gets his neck sliced open, you can see the wires.
  • In the German version, the actual beginning of Eric Manuel's interview is shown.
  • Dolph's death is similar to that of Lumpy's death in Happy Tree Friends web series episode, "The Way You Make Me Wheel".
  • This death is similar to Apocalypse Harley, as it ends with someone saying "That's a Wrap!"
