"Deadliest Catch", Way to Die #283, is the sixth death featured in "Death Be Not Stupid", which aired on March 15, 2009.

Plot[]

An easily agitated electrician named Randall tries his hand at fishing to calm his nerves/anger, but is frustrated by not being able to make a catch. Randall strings a 12,000 volt electrical wire into the lake in order to kill the fish as he laughs evilly while asking God if he did see what he was doing, but accidentally steps barefoot off the wooden boat seat onto the metal of the boat floor, electrocuting himself to death and killing him instantly.

Transcript[]

Narrator: Randall is an electrician with a short fuse. To keep from all loading, he spends his days off fishing.

(Randall catches a fish, but a little one)

Narrator: It's a perfect therapy, as long as he catches fish.

(Angry Ed (Pitched) is playing)

Randall: Ah! Guide my lure, bring me every fish in this lake.

Narrator: But today, the only thing Randall's catching is a massive migraine.

Randall: (SCREAMS OF ANGER)

Narrator: His main circuit flipped from sane to psycho.

Randall: WHERE ARE YOU?!! COME DOWN HERE!! (SCREAMS OF ANGER)

(Randall throws his rod out)

Randall: I'm not a fisherman, I'm an electrician!

(Randall gets out of boat, find something useful in his SUV)

Narrator: Randall's going to use all the tools of his trades, to bringing his catch.

Randall: AH!

Narrator: He'll need a power source. So he taps into the counties 12,000 volt power lines.

Kim Hopkins: There are actually fishing techniques that use electricity. I've actually seen this... where fish were... literally leaping out of the water right onto the deck of the boat. Trying to escape the current that they were fear.

Randall: (GROWLS)

(Randall gets back to the water)

Narrator: Next, he lays the cable out carefully and floats a hundred feet of livewire out to his killing ground.

Randall: Hey, God! You see this? Huh?

Narrator: Finally, he completes the circuit, and drops his megavolt trunk treasure into the deep.

(Randall strings a 12,000 volt electrical wire into the lake in order to kill the fish)

Randall: (Laughs evilly)

Narrator: One by one, the fish go belly up, but Randall isn't going to be satisfied, until he's zapped every last one of God's little fishes.

Randall You're looking, God?! You see what you gave me?!

Narrator: Like most things to good to be true, it was.

Randall: (Laughs evilly)

Narrator: Randall's high voltage fish fryer suddenly turns against the fishermen.

Randall: I don't use no lure! I don't have...

(As the boat shakes, causes Randall's feet fall onto the boat's ground with livewires)

Randall: God! Dah...

(Randall is dead, Precussive Crime Science is playing)

Dr. Steven Burstein: He.... shocked the bejeezus out of himself. And he was literally paralyzed and frozen because none of the nerves would work. Because nerves work via electrical transfer.

(The main theme is playing, replay of Randall kills fish with the electrical way)

Narrator: The first time Randall completed the electrical circuit, the wooden bench insolated him from terminal shock. But once his body touched the electrified metal boat, his fate was sealed. Randall will be spending eternity...sleeping with the fishes.

  • This segment was not to be confused with Discovery Channel's "Deadliest Catch."
    • Also not features any CGI recreations.
    • Ironically, Deadliest Catch was made by the same person that created 1,000 Ways to Die (Thom Beers).
  • This death is related to a scene in The Simpsons: Movie, where Bart recalls a fishing trip when Homer used a zapper to electrocute the fish.
  • This is based off the death of a Ukrainian man.
  • Randall's death is similar to that of Motaro and Liu Kang's deaths in Mortal Kombat 9.
